Tegucigalpa, July 15, 2021.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and UN Women concluded the webinar series "Ecosystem to promote women's financial inclusion" this Thursday with the aim of promoting financial services for women entrepreneurs and closing gender gaps in their access to a transformative post-COVID-19 recovery.

CABEI Executive Vice President, Jaime Roberto Díaz Palacios, explained, "The implementation of this type of program is important for improving the skills of women entrepreneurs, generating jobs and strengthening the female labor force, which is so important for our region". 

The series of webinars included modules taught by specialists in the areas of digital innovation in the financial sector, the creation of portfolios of products, services and innovative channels, as well as best practices in monitoring women's financial inclusion, the contribution to their economic autonomy and recovery from the impacts of the pandemic.

The CABEI Vice President added that one of the main objectives of this type of strategic alliance is to coordinate actions for the management of resources to support women's economic rights, with the participation of regional and international donor organizations to jointly develop programs tailored to the needs of women entrepreneurs.

Participating in this last session were David Cabrera, Director a.i. of the Regional Center for the Promotion of MSMEs (CENPROMYPE); María-Noel Vaeza, Regional Director of UN Women for Latin America and the Caribbean; Aimeé Sentmat, President of BANISTMO; Carmen Rosa de León, member of the Board of Directors of the Rural Development Bank; and Mercy Ramos, CABEI Executive for Financial Institutions.
