CABEI, European Union, and German Government provide seed capital to 49 enterprises and MSMEs in the Dominican Republic

Through the DINÁMICA II Initiative, more than half a million dollars in non-reimbursable funds will be channeled to support projects that promote environmental sustainability and digitization. This collaboration between CABEI, the Government of Germany through KfW, and the European Union within the framework of the “Global Gateway” investment strategy seeks to accelerate the transition to a greener and more technological economy in the region.
Dominican Republic, June 25, 2025.- Forty-nine ventures and MSMEs in the Dominican Republic with high growth potential were selected as beneficiaries of the Regional Seed Capital Program, promoted by the DINÁMICA II Initiative.
More than US$580,000 in non-reimbursable funds will be allocated to innovative projects in strategic sectors such as services, industry, and agriculture, with a clear focus on digitization and sustainability in the Dominican Republic. The program is committed not only to innovation and the green economy but also to inclusion, as more than half of the beneficiary enterprises and MSMEs are led by women, strengthening their role in the local economy and generating a positive impact on communities.
The seed capital was allocated following a regional call for proposals from across Central America, in which applicants sought financing and advice to promote their business ideas. In the Dominican Republic, the process was supported by the MSME centers of the Universidad Central del Este (UCE) and the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), which provided technical assistance to structure the applications.
During the ceremony, Manuel Fernelis Ogando, Country Manager for the Dominican Republic at CABEI, highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in the country's economic development. “My warmest congratulations to each of the entrepreneurs recognized today. You are a fundamental pillar of our country's productive fabric. With your vision, effort, and creativity, you are building a future with more opportunities and more innovation. At CABEI, we will continue working to ensure that these types of initiatives continue to multiply and generate impact throughout the country.”
Along the same lines, the Deputy Head of Delegation of the European Union in the Dominican Republic, Stefaan Pauwels, highlighted: “The European Union is committed to supporting the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Central America, and we are proud to be part of the DINÁMICA II Initiative. We believe that by working together, we can create a more favorable business environment, provide access to finance and markets, and foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.”
For her part, Janna Krenzn, Head of Cooperation at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Dominican Republic, said: “As the German government, we are pleased to support this initiative with CABEI and the European Union, which promotes sustainable, digital, and inclusive change in the region. We are delighted to see that more than half of the featured projects are led by women, a fundamental step toward strengthening the economy and promoting equality. We congratulate all the entrepreneurs recognized and trust that their ideas will positively transform their communities.”
During the event, some of the beneficiaries highlighted that this financial support marks a fundamental starting point for strengthening and expanding their businesses. Yisseell Gómez, founder of Aventuras Dominicanas, a company specializing in educational, cultural, social, and environmental tourism, with a special focus on educational centers, emphasized: “As a result of this seed capital, Aventuras Dominicanas will be in a position to establish strategic and meaningful links with its client base and expand its operational reach. It will also continue to promote educational development and environmental sustainability within its community, while generating concrete opportunities for growth and labor inclusion.”
Meanwhile, Santiago Infante, founder of Pidebot by BOTCITY, an innovative solution that turns instant messaging into an automated channel for efficient order management, added: “Thanks to this seed capital, we have improved our platform, added new features, and grown our client base. More than just a resource, it was a boost and validation to continue investing in a solution that responds to a real market need. To those just starting out, I would say don't give up, trust your vision, and seek out support to help you turn your ideas into reality.”
The DINÁMICA Initiative, through its Regional Seed Capital Program, has also benefited entrepreneurs and MSMEs in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Panama, granting more than US$6.2 million throughout the region.
