Guatemala City, November 22nd, 2022. - To achieve good physical and mental development in babies and young children, it is ideal that they have good nutrition, supportive families and positive early learning experiences. For this reason, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), through a donation of US$3,000 to Idea Global, is supporting the Chispudos Children Program, which benefits 500 children and their mothers in the department of Sacatepéquez in Guatemala.

This contribution will support various actions to promote early stimulation, nutrition and emotional health of children through workshops for their mothers, who are taught various activities that stimulate the early childhood development of their children, as well as nutrition and supplementation issues to ensure a rising generation of healthy Guatemalans.

"Children are the future of our region and, being faithful to our commitment to promote well-being and quality of life for people, we joined the Chispudos Children program with the objective of reducing the malnutrition rate, creating educational opportunities and enriching the cognitive development of preschool children in 14 municipalities in the department of Sacatepéquez," explained CABEI Executive President Dr. Dante Mossi.

He also added that it is crucial to ensure food security and build the foundations that provide structural changes that contribute definitively to children's development, and that with this type of social causes, important steps are being taken to improve their quality of life and ensure a better future for them.

This type of action is part of CABEI's Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility System (SASC), which seeks to address the challenges and opportunities for the benefit of people in Guatemala and the Central American region.
